Big Joe

I can’t remember when I was bitten by the radio bug but it was a long time ago.
As I kid I remember slipping a small transistor radio under my pillow to scan the AM dial for faraway stations. Enamored with story tellers like Paul Harvey and talk radio icon Bruce Williams. Like most of us who grew up in the 80s, I was a latchkey kid. I woke up praying for school closings from the voice coming from my clock radio. Welcomed home from school by TV reruns and then would drift off to sleep in the summers to baseball on the radio. The rest of the year, it was Digital Underground, Public Enemy and Bel Biv Devoe on my Walkman.
Today, my wife, Lisa, and I have two grown daughters, a pittie named Dolly and King Louey the cat. When I’m not working, I’m usually serving at church doing sound, binge watching TV, or you might find me DJing a wedding here and there.
More than 30 years ago, God used a tragedy to bring me to Him. After three decades plus I’m still terrible at living my life like Jesus, but He loves me anyway no matter how unlovable I feel. He loves you too.
Praise God for that!
