A Prayer for Deliverance and Wisdom
Heavenly Father,
Please pray in agreement with me: We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up my brother Mike. Lord, You see the shackles of addiction that have bound him—sexual immorality, adultery,crack cocaine, weed, alcohol, and pills. We ask for a supernatural breakthrough, that the power of the Holy Spirit will break every chain of addiction in his life. We pray for conviction in his heart, that he will recognize his need for help and surrender his will to You. If the Son sets you free, then you will be really free. John 8:36 Lord, we pray that You guide Mike toward the help he needs—detox and treatment—and that You protect his mind and body during this process. We ask You to remove the desire for these substances from his life. We lift up Edna his mother and Brandy his girlfriend not his wife to You. Lord, give them the wisdom, courage, and strength to stop enabling Mike’s addiction. We pray they would no longer bear a load that is not theirs to carry, but instead, allow Mike to face the consequences of his actions so he can seek true recovery. But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8 (Help them to provide true help, not destruction)Father, please give Edna and Brandy the strength to set firm boundaries, and to love Mike by encouraging him to get help rather than enabling the behavior that is destroying him. Surround all of them with Your protection and guidance, leading them away from darkness and toward the light of recovery. Help Brandy to be convicted for being with Mike in sexual sin when she knows he is married. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 We declare a total breakthrough, healing, and restoration for this family, in Jesus Christ name amen.Anonymous
